The zari work on clothes began to get popularized in the early Mughal era. The shiny gold and silver threads were stitched as brocade in lehengas, sarees, dupattas, turbans, etc. In the olden times, only pure gold was broken down in the form of electroplating. By repeated chemical reactions on the ordinary threads and pure forms of gold and silver, a theory called zari work was produced.
Indian ethnic wear has taken a great revolution over the years. Sarees – being one of the ancient forms of clothing are getting more recognized and becoming fashionable among all women. These changes are made according to the trendy demands of the millennials. However, if we look at the grand sarees that are worn for special like festivals and weddings they seem to have a golden spark in them. The golden zari work or thread weaves are the glowing reason for it.
These days we have sarees that are replacing the golden threads with a silver lining. The threads that have a beautiful silky finish are being weaved into the borders of many silk sarees. As it gives a new kind of gleam to the saree, people are readily purchasing many sarees with rich zari work.
Here at Mirra Clothing, we have introduced a new collection of sarees that have a highlighted silver border that is filled with vibrant zari work.
