Jamdani sarees are classic hand-woven sarees, where additional weft creates a pattern of climbing plants, flowers, geometric patterns, ornate patterns or temple designs. These sarees, originally woven in Bangladesh and then in West Bengal, are transparent and light. They are woven either in pure cotton, muslin or silk.
